Our Beliefs
Founded on the Word of God
The Scripture
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error, wholly sufficient, infallible and the only authoritative rule of faith and practice. (II Pet. 1:19-21; II Tim. 3:16-17; Matt. 5:18; Rev. 22:19)
The Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth including mankind. We believe all of God’s creating acts took place in six twenty-four hour days and God rested on the seventh day. (Gen. 1:1,26, 2:2,7; Psa. 33:6,9; Joh. 1:3; Col. 1:16,17)
The True God
We believe there is only one, living, true, and eternal God expressed in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; equal in every divine perfection. (Psa. 147:5; Matt. 28:19; Joh. 10:30, 14:16-26)
The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, without ceasing to be God conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life that he might redeem sinful men. (Joh. 1:1-2, 14; Luk. 1:35)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice and our justification by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead. (Rom. 3:24-25; I Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is exalted at the right hand of God as our intercessor and advocate. (Act. 1:9; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 9:24; I Joh. 2:1-2)
The Holy Spirit
We reject the teaching of speaking in tongues as evidence of the indwelling Holy Spirit but were a sign the age of grace had begun and ceased with God’s purpose in the apostolic age. (1 Cor. 13:8, 14:21-22)
Man
We believe man was created in God’s image without sin and placed in a perfect environment. (Gen. 1:26-31) But man rebelled against God, now lives in a totally depraved state, and unable to remedy his lost condition. (Eph. 2:8-9; Tit. 3:5; Rom. 3:22-23, 5:12; Gal. 3:22)
We believe every saved person has an old nature not eradicated but rendered inoperative and a new nature providing victory through the power of the Spirit. (Gal. 5:16-25; Rom. 7:17, 8:1; Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:10)
